Vallejo Loses/Another City Gains A Code Enforcement Officer
Years ago, the operation of the Code Enforcement Division was brought under control of the Police Department - commanded by a police lieutenant. The collaboration provided needed information and resource sharing.
Recently, Code Enforcement Officer Jay Neilson resigned to work for another Bay Area agency; taking his training and experience with him. Jay has been a part of the Vallejo police family since 2007. Jay is a Vallejo native and attended Vallejo schools. He began as a police volunteer assisting with many facets of the Department - working special events, traffic control, DUI checkpoints, etc. In 2018, Jay took on full time employment with the Department working in Code Enforcement. His wealth of knowledge and devotion to the City of Vallejo will leave a hole to fill. While not a VPOA member, Jay has supported the Department, the City and VPOA members for years. Thanks Jay and best of luck!
