More Experience Out The Door

The VPOA would like to acknowledge the departure of yet another veteran police officer. Matt Samida will take his over eight years of experience to a nearby Sheriff’s Department. Matt, another homegrown police officer, began working with the Department in our Cadet Program while he was attending college. Vallejo PD sponsored Matt through the police academy where his talent was quickly apparent. As an officer he was accepted in assignments on the mobile field force team and as an assistant team leader on the SWAT team. Unfortunately, at the time of his resignation, Matt was one of the few remaining members of the VPD Crime Reduction Team. This team has been very successful in seizing a high numbers of firearms off the street and arresting some of the most violent offenders in our city and surrounding areas. His experience, dedication, and composed demeanor will be sorely missed. Best of luck Matt!
