Community Service Section Open House

pressreleaseimageIn an effort to strengthen relationships with the community, the Vallejo Police Department (VPD) will open its doors on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Community Service Section Headquarters located at 2 Florida St.

The Community Service Section was created to work in close collaboration with neighborhood groups, City of Vallejo Code Enforcement, the City Attorney Neighborhood Law Program, Fighting Back Partnership and other community service groups.

"The Vallejo Police Department is inviting citizens to participate in an Open House", said Tina Encarnacion. "This is an excellent opportunity for the community to learn what tools the City has available to them to improve their quality of life."

Events at the Open House will include:
Citizens Self-Defense training
Watching K-9 demonstrations
How to establish a Neighborhood Watch Group workshop
CPTED (Crime Prevention through Environmental Design)

Fun for Children:
Bounce House
Fingerprinting
Face painting and Animal Balloons
